    SEC Men's Tennis Players Of The Week

    The Southeastern Conference announced its first weekly men's tennis honors of the season on Wednesday, recognizing outstanding performances on the court across the league.

    Tom Jomby • Kentucky
    Senior • Nantes, France

    • Helped No. 9 Kentucky to a 4-0 start to dual season.
    • Kentucky’s win at No. 7 Duke was first win in Durham since 1974.  
    • Win at Duke was 70th-career win.
    • Went 8-0 overall with four singles wins and four doubles wins.
    • Did not drop a set in eight singles sets played.
    • Defeated two opponents ranked higher than him in #52 Jason Tahir (Duke) and #60 Sven Lilac (Indiana).

    • Swept all of his matches in the season-opening doubleheader last Saturday, playing all singles and doubles matches from the No. 1 spot.
    •  His doubles victory with Schmid clinched the doubles point for MSU against Jackson State, while singles victory in the first match was the clincher for the MSU win.
    • Only dropped a total of seven games through his four total matches over the weekend, losing only five in singles (including shutting out Ashok in the second set) and two in doubles.
    • His victories helped MSU obtained its 300th win for the MSU tennis program (men’s/women’s) at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
