AUBURN, Ala. - The second-ranked Auburn equestrian team debuted the spring season with an 11-8 win over Delaware State, in a meet that saw two riders break all-time wins records. Senior Jennifer Waxman won her head-to-head matchup in equitation over fences to improve to 34 career wins and move past Maggie McAlary's 33 win from 2008-12. Senior Christina Lin also claimed the career spot for wins in equitation over fences, surpassing Lindsay Portela with 32 victories.

The Tigers (7-1, 2-1 SEC) jumped out to a 4-1 lead after equitation over fences, a discipline that has been the team's bread and butter all season. The mark improves the squad to 30-10 in fences this season for a .750 winning percentage. Waxman tied her season-high score of 88, joining Quincy Hayes' 87 as the team's two 80-plus marks. Freshman Ashley Foster got her first win of her career with a 72, while Demi Stiegler rounded out the wins for Auburn.

Delaware State got the best of Auburn in horsemanship, earning three points for Hornets and to bring the team score within two points, 6-4. Lucy Igoe and Katsy Leeman were the winners for the Tigers.

The Hornets maintained their lead through reining, tying Auburn 2-2 for the event. Auburn led 8-6. Griffin Knight and Stephanie Rucci remained undefeated in reining, with Knight picking up her sixth win of the season, while Rucci grabbed her third.

In the final discipline of the meet, Auburn edged DSU 3-2 in equitation on the flat. In her first collegiate meet, Foster pulled in two wins with a strong 82 scored. Piper Donnelly had the high score for the Tigers with an 87, while Lin rounded out the Auburn victories en route to a new school record.
