    SEC Men's Tennis Players Of The Week

    The Southeastern Conference announced its most recent men's tennis honors Wednesday, recognizing outstanding performances on the court from across the league.

    Mikelis Libietis  • Tennessee
    Junior • Priekuli, Latvia

    • Collected first ranked win of the spring in a 6-4, 6-5 win over former MSU star Romain Bogaerts. It was his first win over Bogaerts (2 matches last year were unfinished).
    • His win over Bogaerts clinched the Vols’ 4-1 victory over No. 19 Wake Forest
    • Extended doubles winning streak with Reese to a season-best nine matches. They are 9-0 this spring at No. 1.
    • Libietis and Reese improved their doubles record to 20-2 this season with seven ranked wins, collecting another on Sunday vs. Wake Forest

    • Lakat picked up his fifth-straight win in Sunday’s doubleheader. 
    • For the year, Lakat is 7-1 in dual match play, with all wins coming at the No. 1 position. 
    • In the two Sunday singles wins, Lakat won both in straight sets, only dropping 10 total games and giving the freshman five straight-set victories for the spring. 
    • The wins also gave Lakat his fifth-career win at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. 
    • Lakat’s win against Ernesto Santillan of Alcorn State clinched the overall match for the Bulldogs. 
    • Lakat’s 13 wins for the 2013-14 season are tied with sophomore Jordan Angus for the team lead. 
    • In doubles, Lakat teamed with junior Tassilo Schmid to sweep play for the weekend. 
    • Lakat and Schmid moved to 4-3 for the 2013-14 season and 3-2 in dual match play. 
    • Both of Lakat and Schmid’s victories clinched the doubles point for the Bulldogs.
