
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following the 2013 Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, a nation-leading 13 SEC track and field teams are ranked in the latest National Computer Team Rankings released Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The SEC boasts a nation-leading six ranked teams on the men’s side, including the top-three teams. The 2013 SEC Champion Arkansas Razorbacks are the nation’s top-ranked team this week, while three-time defending NCAA Indoor Champion Florida is ranked second and Texas A&M is third. Other SEC men’s teams in the top-25 include No. 13 LSU, No. 23 Ole Miss and No. 25 Auburn.
Five SEC women’s teams are ranked among the top-10 nationally to highlight a nation-leading seven teams in the top-25. LSU is the No. 1 team, while 2013 SEC Champion Arkansas checks in at No. 4. Texas A&M is No. 6, Georgia is No. 7 and Florida is No. 10. Other SEC women’s teams in the top-25 include No. 15 South Carolina and No. 25 Mississippi State.
The next USTFCCCA rankings will be released on March 5.
The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled to take place March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark.
