    • SEC Names Daniels Associate Commissioner

      Tiffany Daniels, currently the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs at Georgia State University, has been named Associate Commissioner with the Southeastern Conference, Commissioner Mike Slive announced Friday.
    • SEC And The Baseball America Top 100

      On Tuesday, the publication Baseball America released their top 100 prospects list, a collection of the premier talent currently playing in Major League Baseball’s minor league system. The index, released at the start of spring training every year since 1990, has become widely acknowledged as the most prestigious prospect directory in the entire sport.

      And so it begins. Umpires across college baseball uttered the phrase “play ball” this weekend, signifying the start of the 2013 season. In the Southeastern Conference, 44 games were played, league teams took to the diamond for the first time this year.

Whenever a new season of baseball is set to begin, I always find myself going back to find this famous quote. Uttered by Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby, it perfectly illustrates the wait a true baseball fan endures, as the cold weather of fall replaces the sunshine filled days of summer.

    The Lobby: Tuesday Streaming
    Whew. Now we can finally take a deep breath. Today was by far the "busiest" day on the SEC Digital Network's schedule, which is misleading seeing as how after today we don't really have a schedule going forward. However, Tuesday was all about our SEC Spring Meetings Live Stream Show, which we aired for almost two hours exclusively on the SEC website.   Full Story

    Spring Meetings: The Calm Before The Storm
    When you check in Monday afternoon, it looks like just another sunny Florida resort. With the Memorial Day crowds starting their trek home, the walkways are eerily quiet. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. But, once the Monday sun sets over the Sandestin Hilton, the “storm” begins to brew. Over the course of the next four days, the Southeastern Conference will gather in this very property, as the league’s Spring Meetings kickoff Tuesday morning.  Full Story

    SEC Tournament: You Are Watching History
    You are watching history. For the first time in the 34-year era of the Southeastern Baseball Tournament, 10 conference teams will compete for the coveted championship this year at Regions Park. The decision to add teams, finalized in December 2011, adds a new wrinkle to one of the most popular events in college baseball.  Full Story

    The SEC "Numbers Game": Hoover Time
    The 2012 SEC Baseball Tournament is here. After three months of home games, road trips and pivotal moments, the chance for the league's 10-best teams to shine is upon us. For the next six days, starting on Tuesday, the road to the National Championship starts in Hoover at Regions Park. A talent packed collection of teams will battle each other over the course of this week, with the conference's tournament champion crowned on Sunday.   Full Story
