      Tiffany Daniels, currently the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs at Georgia State University, has been named Associate Commissioner with the Southeastern Conference, Commissioner Mike Slive announced Friday.
    • SEC And The Baseball America Top 100

      On Tuesday, the publication Baseball America released their top 100 prospects list, a collection of the premier talent currently playing in Major League Baseball’s minor league system. The index, released at the start of spring training every year since 1990, has become widely acknowledged as the most prestigious prospect directory in the entire sport.

      And so it begins. Umpires across college baseball uttered the phrase “play ball” this weekend, signifying the start of the 2013 season. In the Southeastern Conference, 44 games were played, league teams took to the diamond for the first time this year.

Whenever a new season of baseball is set to begin, I always find myself going back to find this famous quote. Uttered by Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby, it perfectly illustrates the wait a true baseball fan endures, as the cold weather of fall replaces the sunshine filled days of summer.

    The Monday "Three and Out"
    This is the week we wait all year for. The SEC Championship Game is more than just a Saturday in our business; it is a week-long affair that puts a shiny red bow on the conference’s football season. For the past five years it has meant that much more, serving as a defacto National Championship semifinal game.   Full Story

    The 2011 SEC Championship Game has come and gone, leaving the LSU Tigers standing as the conference's best team. In this special photoblog, we will re-live the contest in a collections of pictures taken during the game.     FanFare Friday: SEC Photoblog
    We report to you once again from the Georgia Dome, now just 24 hours before the start of Saturday's game between Georgia and LSU. Friday is a day mainly for the media, as the coaches speak to reporters prior to the start of the day's activities. As you will see in the photos below, there are a few other happenings taking place here as well. One of those is SEC Fanfare, which got a new look this year and is an impressive setup for the fans that attend. The entire layout was redone, giving a crisp feel to a staple of SEC Championship weekend.  Full Story

    Calm Before The Storm: Thursday Photoblog
    The SEC Championship Game is here! After another stellar football season, two teams have advanced to meet for conference glory at the Georgia Dome on Saturday. Throughout the week, I'll be taking pictures, trying to give the SEC nation a behind the scenes look and feel to what goes on in Atlanta. Thursday is the "Calm Before the Storm", as the field gets set up and ready for both teams and their fans. As you'll see in the photos below, areas that will be jammed packed on Saturday are now empty and waiting. It is almost eerie.   Full Story

    Twitter For Tickets: A "Championship" Journey
    For the first time in the SEC Digital Network's history, we are letting a pair of tickets "travel" to Atlanta. In an effort to better connect with SEC fans on Twitter, we have launched a campaign where people can follow a pair of "tickets" journey towards the SEC Championship Game. Fans will be able to identify "landmarks" along the map, culminating in a Saturday appearance somewhere in the vicinity of the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. After the journey is over, one lucky fan will follow the last set of Twitter instructions, claiming their prize by finding the location of our final tweet.   Full Story
