    Elfi Schlegel, one of the most decorated gymnasts in the University of Florida history and now one of the sports most recognized television announcers, is part of the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Hall of Fame class. The 2013 class will be inducted on Wednesday, June 12 in ceremonies at the 2013 CoSIDA Convention at the Marriott World Center in Orlando.
    The University of Missouri announced today that former Michigan assistant coach, Shannon Welker has accepted the position of Head Women's Gymnastics Coach at Mizzou. The St. Louis, Mo., native is the third head coach in Mizzou gymnastics history, and brings a wealth of experience to Columbia after spending five years as an assistant coach under Bev Plocki at the University of Michigan and nine years as the head coach and program director at the St. Louis Gymnastic Center.
    The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network, which will launch in August 2014, it was announced today by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and ESPN President John Skipper.
    University of Florida freshman and 2013 NCAA all-around champion Bridget Sloan (Pittsboro, Ind.) is this year’s Honda Sports Award recipient for gymnastics, distinguishing her as the nation’s top collegiate female athlete in the sport. The honor was based on the results of national balloting among all NCAA member schools as part of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards program, now in its 37th year.
    University of Georgia senior Shayla Worley will be inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame as a member of the 2007 U.S. Women’s Artistic Gymnastics World Championship Team.
