Professor of the Year Johnson Embraces Ideal of Student-Athletes

SEC Academic Consortium Reorganized, Johnson To Lead
The Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium (SECAC) will relocate to Birmingham and a new director has been named, announced Commissioner Mike Slive. Torie Johnson has been named to serve as the SEC Academic Consortium Director, effective July 1. In her new role, Johnson will continue the SEC Provosts' work on existing initiatives while implementing the new direction established by the SEC Presidents and Chancellors. Full Story

SEC Universities Collaborate to Educate Abroad
In 2008, the Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium (SECAC) was awarded an Institute for Study Abroad Foundation (IFSA) grant of $94,000 to provide scholarship support for Southeastern Conference (SEC) students to study abroad together. Full Story |
