SEC To Release McWhorter Post-Graduate Scholarship Recipients
The Southeastern Conference will the recipients of the Boyd H. McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship on April 6 in conjunction with National Student-Athlete Day. The SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards was first presented in 1986. The honor was renamed the H. Boyd McWhorter SEC Scholar-Athletes of the Year in May 1990 to honor the former commissioner who served the conference from 1972-86.

Sankey Promoted To SEC Exec. Assoc. Commissioner And COO
The Southeastern Conference today announced that Greg Sankey has been promoted to Executive Associate Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the conference. Sankey previously served as an Associate Commissioner since 2002. He has been responsible for compliance, governance and enforcement as well as oversight of the conference championships personnel. In his new role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the SEC office.

SEC Names Women's Basketball Community Service Team
In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC once again highlighted a Community Service Team for women's basketball for the 2011-12 season. This marks the 14th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball as well as for men's basketball. All 20 league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.

SEC To Honor Past Women's Greats
Featuring former outstanding student-athletes from all 12 Southeastern Conference member institutions, the 2012 class of the SEC Greats program will be honored at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, March 1-4 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. This marks the 12th year of the the Greats program.

Claybrook Named SEC Assistant Commissioner
Leslie Claybrook, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Rice University for the last four years, has been named Assistant Commissioner in the Southeastern Conference office, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced today.
