    SEC Names Women's Basketball Community Service Team
    In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC once again highlighted a Community Service Team for women's basketball for the 2011-12 season. This marks the 14th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball as well as for men's basketball. All 20 league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.  Full Story

    SEC To Honor Past Women's Greats
    Featuring former outstanding student-athletes from all 12 Southeastern Conference member institutions, the 2012 class of the SEC Greats program will be honored at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, March 1-4 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.     2011 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll

    Claybrook Named SEC Assistant Commissioner
    Leslie Claybrook, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Rice University for the last four years, has been named Assistant Commissioner in the Southeastern Conference office, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced today.  Full Story

    Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Winners Assist Red Cross
    Past and present Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award winners, including 2001 honorary award winner Shane Battier, are teaming up this summer to assist fundraising efforts of the American Red Cross, specifically with disaster relief aid in communities hit by this year’s rash of spring tornadoes and flooding.  Full Story

    SEC Academic Consortium Reorganized, Johnson To Lead
    The Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium (SECAC) will relocate to Birmingham and a new director has been named, announced Commissioner Mike Slive. Torie Johnson has been named to serve as the SEC Academic Consortium Director, effective July 1. In her new role, Johnson will continue the SEC Provosts’ work on existing initiatives while implementing the new direction established by the SEC Presidents and Chancellors.   Full Story
